Steam and publisher copy describe several different regions / systems, each with its own rules, resources, exploration opportunities, and visual identity. The current build ships the first major story chapter and a large explorable area; other parts of the world stay closed until later updates.

| Layer | What players meet in EA Chapter 1 | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Hub station | Powered interior, crew/NPC hooks, craft bench, oxygen refill indoors | Live |
| Debris ring | Wreckage, junk, aluminum deposits, short salvage loops | Live |
| Service POIs | Public oxygen station, antennas, ticket booths, beacons | Live (quest-gated) |
| Named districts on local signs | e.g. recycling / hotel / business / monument style labels on overview boards | Orient only — verify in your build |
| Distant locked sectors | Story or EA gates; do not force with first-game map logic | Partial / future |
| Planet surfaces | Promised in later EA updates with vehicles | Future EA |
Opening coverage repeatedly names the early area as the Outskirts: a ruined, half-thawed urban-space leftover with maintenance warnings, prison-convoy humor, and a station you restore piece by piece. Treat “Outskirts” as the starter region label, not a coordinate you can paste into a community map yet.
Interactive map tooling is planned later. Until captured in-game with version tags, we describe landmarks by type and quest role only. If a blog lists precise coordinates for sequel stations, assume unverified.
Abandoned / half-dead stations are the sequel’s primary hubs: shelter, oxygen top-ups, craft access, NPC conversations, and repair quests that turn a cold shell into a working base of operations.

| Station job | Why it matters | Related page |
|---|---|---|
| Power restore | Unlocks systems, thaw, and further inspections | walkthrough |
| Oxygen / life support | Safe interior refill + outdoor public oxygen station repairs | survival |
| Craft / storage | Turn salvage into tools without dying outside | crafting |
| NPC / attendant repairs | Side objectives and local services | ship-and-crew |
| Antenna / beacon work | Sector data, frequency maps, next POI hints | This page |
New players fly toward the prettiest wreck and bleed out. Better order: restore power and life support on the hub, unlock the public oxygen station if the quest offers it, then expand the salvage ring. Materials for those repairs: resources.
Later regions can change hazard rules and visuals. When a door or transit refuses you, check whether the quest log still points at the current chapter — many “empty” wings are EA locks, not broken collisions.
Ship wrecks and floating debris are the main scavenger fields between stations. Official marketing explicitly calls out wrecked ships as exploration targets alongside abandoned stations.

Some containers open with the starter tool; others need cutters, thumpers, or later twisting tools. If the prompt asks for a tool you lack, mark the wreck and leave — the same pocket becomes a goldmine after one craft.
Debris rings can include hostile robots, ticket-booth lasers, and oxygen drain. Clear a path, loot, return. Combat and suit prep belong on equipment; do not treat every wreck as a peaceful junkyard.
Metal, plastic, electronics, and quest parts concentrate in wreck interiors and breakable appliances. Route planning for mats: resources.
Publisher and Steam framing also list destroyed settlements / ruined habitats. In the opening chapter that often reads as urban-space leftovers: signs for civic buildings, ticket infrastructure, monuments, and “city in emergency mode” flavor — not a polished open-world city sim.
| Landmark flavor | Player use | Caution |
|---|---|---|
| Civic / commercial leftovers | Orientation boards, side scavenges, antenna jobs | Labels may be humorous; verify quest markers |
| Ticket / enforcement props | Story comedy + combat hazards | Movement-reactive defenses exist in coverage |
| Monument / plaza debris | Visual anchors for return trips | Do not invent coordinates from screenshots |
| Future settlement regions | Later EA story areas | Treat as locked until the patch notes say otherwise |
Ruined habitats in space are live content themes now. Full planet-surface settlement play is a later EA promise with vehicles. Keep those layers separate so you do not hunt for ground cities that are not in the build.

Series SIM still spikes on “breathedge oxygen station” and “oxygen station location.” Those queries usually want first-game map pins. The sequel reuses the fantasy — a place you repair so you can breathe — but the pins and chapter numbers are not copy-paste.

| Query | Likely game | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| breathedge oxygen station location | Usually Breathedge 1 | Use first-game maps only; do not drop those pins in B2 |
| breathedge 2 oxygen / survival | Sequel | Read survival + repair the local public station when quested |
| public oxygen station repair | Sequel EA Chapter 1 coverage | Gather parts, repair, insert ice, breathe in the volume |
Players searching “stations” land here even when they meant gen-1 oxygen modules. Calling out the split keeps them from wasting a flight — and points sequel players at the real early objective instead of a wiki from the wrong game.
Early Access is explicit: the story is incomplete and some world regions remain inaccessible. Building, more vehicles, jump systems, and surface play are roadmap themes, not a promise that every trailer biome is clickable today.
Developers estimate a long Early Access window (on the order of 16–20 months, subject to change). Map coverage will grow. Prefer version-tagged notes over chasing every rumor biome. Roadmap context: early-access.

Official framing highlights abandoned stations, wrecked ships, and destroyed settlements across multiple regions with different rules and looks.
Planned for later Early Access updates with vehicles. Do not assume surface biomes are in the opening chapter.
Series “oxygen station location” searches usually mean Breathedge 1. In sequel EA coverage, repair a public oxygen station near the early hub and feed it ice — not a gen-1 wiki pin.
Because they are often first-game Chapter maps. Sequel EA Chapter 1 uses different numbering and layout — treat gen-1 names as spoilers for the wrong game.
Hub stations are where crew and NPC loops start; personal ship systems deepen later. See ship-and-crew.
